Galentines Day: Rosé vs. Bubbles

Move over Valentine’s, and let the ladies do the celebrating. February 13 is Galentine’s Day and it’s legit. The clichéd box of chocolates and supermarket greeting cards are passé. Give your gal pal a bottle of NASTY WOMAN WINES to honor this badass friendship and soul-affirming love that keeps you both going. Let us help you decide between two solid options – the sassy and sultry Rosé or Bubbles, the perennial party classic.

Rosé

Rosé has evolved over the years into an incredibly versatile, drinkable, and affordable wine that is as tasty as it is good looking. Our Progress Pink is an ideal example of an accessible Rosé; a comfortable price point, enjoyable with a wide variety of foods, and appealing to many palates. It’s gorgeous to boot, as is our label lady featuring trendsetter and fashion designer Dona Sarkur.

While Rosé can actually be made by blending red and white grapes, NASTY WOMAN WINES Progress Pink is crafted with Pinot Noir grapes intentionally harvested earlier in the season. Made with only these red grapes, our Progress Pink produces the prettiest rose hue, perfect for Valentine’s Day. Whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel, our Rosé is super bright and dry.

Rosé is meant to be drunk chilled, in a medium wine glass – this helps you better smell and savor our wines’ aromas of crabapples, watermelon, and strawberries. Many think of sipping Rosé in the summertime, preferably on a terrace in the south of France, but simply any backyard will suffice. However, don’t relegate this gorgeous wine to just picnics and warm days. Rosé is utterly acceptable all winter long, especially when paired with goat cheese or even pizza – a pandemic staple for most of us!

Bubbles

Perhaps you’re not a fan of the pink. Maybe you’re feeling a tad more festive, needing a touch more flair. Nothing makes a statement like a glass of the bubbly. Our Boss Lady Bubbles rise to the occasion, wafting aromatics of honeysuckle and white flowers, alongside lychee, mandarin orange, and peach skin. Lush! While sweet on the nose, this Riesling based wine from Washington is blended with a touch of Muscat before undergoing forced carbonation. Unlike unwieldy corked bottles, our bubbly is capped with a crown, making it far easier to enjoy without spilling.

Also, imbibed cold, Boss Lady Bubbles are preferably poured into a fluted glass, which helps the bubbles to rise, bringing with them the scent of fruit and flowers. One effervescent sip and you’ll have bright green apple flavor, with a touch of beeswax and honey. While this also pairs well with soft cheeses, it goes best with laughter and conversation as this is a bottle best shared.

It doesn’t matter if you think Feb 14th is for suckers, you’re pining for that special boo, or your relishing being solo. Celebrate the eve of that Hallmark holiday with the authentic Galentine’s Day. In the year of Covid, you NEED your bestie like nobody’s business, as they’re in it for the long haul. Ever present and true blue, she’s got your back. So, surprise your friend, confidant, and partner-in-crime with some liquid libations. Pink and pretty or bubbly and bright, select a bottle of NASTY WOMAN WINES to make their night.
