From Resist to Persist

Pour yourself a glass of Persist Pinot Gris. This dry, medium-bodied wine is the trendsetting drink of the inaugural season. It’s perfect for those complicated feelings we’re experiencing right now.

We spent the last four years reeling from one trauma to another, from catastrophic wildfires to heart-wrenching family separations, to appalling violence against Black lives. We watched while white men assumed positions of power while women and BIPOC were systematically ignored, overlooked, and persecuted. We witnessed the rise and elevation of ignorance perpetuated by gas-lighting and fake news, with a president intent on fostering division and inciting violence.

Not exactly a toast-worthy summary, but our response to this oppression is. Nasty Women fought back. Blood, sweat, and tears. Tooth and nail. We RESISTED. We protested and marched, wrote letters and raised signs, sent petitions, and gathered signatures. We made meals for our sick friends and sent letters to our politicians. We made our dissent known.

While we recuperate and recover, we can’t call it quits. While we resisted for four long years, we can’t stop now. Our focus is on the challenges that remain; the glass ceilings still intact and the lack of representation at the top level of government and business. We must transition from Resist to Persist. Persist Pinot Gris is THE wine to drink right now. Let’s channel Cheryl Strayed, the wine label’s cover girl, the moment she completes the highest peak on the Pacific Crest Trail. She’s gotten through the worst of it – but she’s not done yet.

We’re thrilled with the fresh leadership at the helm of our country. Grateful that there’s been a successful transfer of power. Relieved that vaccine distribution appears to be rolling out nationwide. Things are looking up. Think of NASTY WOMAN WINES Persist Pinot Gris, a bright, refreshing wine, as a symbol of the future.

So, take a minute. Take a sip. Sit back and appreciate that we got through this together. Breathe out a collective sigh of relief and exhaustion. Then breathe in the nose of Meyer lemon, green apple, and white nectarine. Smells like inspiration to us! We’ve got work to do.
